First off, I have been making more pudding, just haven't blogged about it til now.
I made regular pudding but since it's so basic I didn't feel the need to blog about it and I make it all the time so...
I also made maple pudding, which was tasty, but didn't look very pretty :/
And I made sweetened condensed milk strawberry pudding, but that didn't turn out too good, especially since I used non fat milk instead of cream. Yeah, don't do that. Dx
And at this point I don't really need to meticulously translate the recipes since I've gotten the general formula down. Then again some of my puddings may have been bad because of this...^^;
So anyways, without further to do: Mango Pudding! (no image cause I don't have my camera. you all know what it looks like right?)
It's my favorite thing at tea houses, but this Japanese version is slightly different.
It consists of mango puree, sugar, evaporated milk, gelatin, and lemon juice (O_O)
yeah, the lemon juice threw me too, never seen that before. It added an interesting flavor, along with my already not so good mango (one piece would be perfectly sweet, then another bitter D:) So it's pretty tart and is actually not too bad
What I was really proud of was the texture. Last time I made mango pudding with fresh puree, it turned out really pulpy and nasty Dx This one is very smooth and creamy, so I'm happy =D
The mango pudding I love and adore is made from a mix (which I could get at the Chinese super market) but I'd like to try again with fresh mango and make a pudding more reminiscent of the kind in the restaurants.
